Update to Parents

We are excited to be opening our doors to in class learning for all students on Monday January 17, 2022. You can check the details of this on the WRDSB website at: https://www.wrdsb.ca/blog/2022/01/12/schools-reopen-to-in-person-learning-january-17-2022/

Please check this website regularly (or subscribe) as it will continue to be updated as we continue to receive more direction from the Ministry of Education and WRDSB.

Please ensure your child has completed the NEW COVID daily screener before attending school each day. This is available on both the Courtland and WRDSB websites. Here is a link: https://covid-19.ontario.ca/school-screening/?WRDSB_Schools_Button

Here are some details about the Temporary Remote Learning Program that I have been asked by WRDSB to share with our families. Please note that this program will NOT be run by your student’s regular teachers. Here is the message from WRDSB:

This program is meant to be temporary in nature, up to and including February 11, 2022.

  • Families who wish for their children to return to in-person learning prior to February 11th will be welcomed at any time.
  • Students may continue to access learning materials posted within their own classroom’s VLE (D2L or Google Classroom)
  • Beginning January 19th until February 11th, central staff will be available throughout the school day between 8:15-4:15 to answer student questions – contact information will be available on the website
  • Students will need to use their @wrdsb account in order to access the website.  Please ensure students have their login information
  • This temporary program is not expected to meet the requirements of PPM 164
  • The completion of the temporary withdrawal form ensures attendance will not be impacted. This form will be shared in School Day and on the School Website.
  • There will be no assessment or evaluation of student work
  • Additional learning opportunities are available throughTVOntario TVO Learn and Télévision française de l’Ontario TFO
  • Mathematics support for students grades 6-11 including 1:1 tutoring is available throughTVO Mathify

We know these are very challenging for everyone and we will continue to do our best to keep your student safe, connected, and learning. Thank you for your ongoing partnership in making this happen.
